About Me

I have been blogging for awhile now and I am sure people pick up a lot about me from what I write about, but I have never done a specific 'about me' post, so here it goes.

My name is Kasey. I am married to Stuart and we have been together since 2000. I was 15 and he was 17 when we started dating. We will be married for four years on July 3rd. Together we have two children, Charlie and Abby. Charlie just turned 2 and Abby three months. We also have our origional two children, our furbabies, Isabelle and Willy.

I grew up in a very rural part of Ohio. We don't even have a Walmart in our county. I showed cattle for 10 years at the county fair and was president of my FFA chapter and 4-H club. I was also very much an overacheiver, was on Student Council and was Yearbook editor, and graduated 3rd in my high school class.

I went to college where I did nursing for one year, discovered I hated it and changed my major to Early Childhood Education with a focus in Special Education. I was working and going to school at the same, with a one hour commute to my college so it wasn't easy. I didn't go full time my second year.

Just before my third year of college was to begin, I discovered I was pregnant (for the second time, but that is a story for another day) and Stuart decided to join the Army so I didn't go back that year. And I am currently waiting to go back...

Stuart joined the Army in 2005 after we discovered we were pregnant with Charlie. He graduated from BCT in December of 2005 and since he was in the ACASP program, got to skip AIT. We reported to Fort Hood, our first duty station, in February of 2006 and Charlie was born shortly after on March 18th, 2006.

We lived at Fort Hood for a year and then reported to Fort Bragg, NC, where we discovered I was pregnant again, this time with our daughter, Abby. She was born December 31st, 2007 and so here we are, waiting on Stuart's first deployment to come around.


So what do I like? Honestly, I am a fairly simple person and it doesn't take much to make me happy. I am not much of a people person and like to be by myself a lot. I love spending time with my family and my husband honestly is my very best friend. And you may hear me talk about Lindsay a lot. She is my best girl friend. The only girl that I can really stand to be around for long stretches of time, lol.

I am obsessed with purses. My Coach bag is one of my most prized possessions. I also have a Dooney bitsy bag, the cutest Longaberger bag, and I am working on my first Vera Bradley. I also have numerous non-designer bags that are taking up tons of space in my closest.

I also LOVE to read. My absolute favorites are Stephanie Meyer's books: Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. I am in love with Edward and I want to be a vampire (and no, I am not joking). I also enjoy the Harry Potter books, most of James Patterson's and Stephan King's novels, and the Odd Thomas books.

I am a big fan of TV as well. I watch it a lot and I love to collect TV on DVD, though that can become a very expensive habit. How I Met Your Mother is currently my absolute favorite show. As far as older stuff goes, I am a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Friends.

I am also a quilter. I usually post pictures up of my finished projects. I had a quilting blog for awhile, but I am just merging it all back into one blog again because it is easier on me than maintaining more than one space for things.
