Book Review: Stardust by Neil Gaiman

Tonight, I finished the book Stardust by Neil Gaiman.

And it is one of the few cases where I can state that I enjoyed the movie much much more than the book.

I LOVED the movie. In fact, I may very well need to own it in the near future.

The book, however... Eh, it was alright.

It was a very quick read so I got through it reading it off and on over a few days so I don't feel like I wasted too much time reading it. But surprisingly, it was not very detailed. It was spanned over a large amount of time, but didn't tell much of what happened in that time. And I wasn't feeling the 'affections' that the main characters developed for one another by the end of the book because, again, lack of detail.

How is it possible that a movie has more detail than the book it was based off of? Really, don't waste your time reading the book. Instead, rent the movie. (Though I feel it is almost blasphemous for me to suggest that, lol)

I enjoyed the movie more than the book too! Both were so different. I was looking forward to read about the ghostly brothers and Captain shakespeare but their characters were so minimal in the book. If Captain S were in the book, he'd definitely be my favourite character.

Anyway, here's my Stardust review!
