Yes, I am a sister.

And I even talked to my sister about this one, lol.

While I do think it is great that Anna was Kate's "savior" I still feel like the book didn't validate her life and made it seem like what her parents did was okay.

Anna WANTED to give Kate a kidney and Kate didn't want it. So Anna could have been Kate's savior even if she had lived. I felt like the point was that Anna was protecting Kate's wishes but suddenly it was okay when Anna was dead to take her kidney.

LOL, sorry, this book just made me SO emotional. I am like a crazy person when I talk about it, lol.

I think the point of Anna's death in the story was to show that she was Kate's savior. How many people get to save someone's life, let alone at the age of 13?

And if she hadn't died and she had lived and Kate had died, then what? Anna would have been the selfish one. And I think the story would have ended with readers hating Anna. At least this way, Kate lives and Anna is still the hero.

I did like the book, but was also surprised by the ending. I am really looking forward to seeing the movie, although they never measure up to the book!
